Interview Spring 2026

Dr. Moses Yasin DC MS CCSP®

Nuna Health & Wellness, Chiropractic and Physical Medicine with Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine

Our interview with a former student of David Winston RH(AHG) is a little different this time. This one is about an entire family of healthcare providers who incorporate their Center for Herbal Studies training into their practices.

Dr. Moses Yasin DC MS CCSP®, Nuna Health & Wellness in Sussex, NJ, tells their story.

Multiple members of your family have trained with David. Who are they and what kind of work do you all do?

Our family represents a bridge between conventional and integrative medicine. My father, Sami Yasin, MD and Liz Loving RN, BSN own and operate Tristate Wellness & Medical Care, a primary care clinic with a specialized focus on infectious diseases.

My wife, Jennifer Perez, DACM, LAc, and I operate Nuna Health & Wellness. We run a multidisciplinary center where we combine Chiropractic and Physical Medicine with Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Together, our family covers a broad spectrum of care—from acute internal medicine to musculoskeletal rehabilitation and holistic wellness.

How did each of you become interested in medicinal herbs?

Our interest began with a shared respect for traditional folk methods. Long before our formal medical training, we were familiar with using herbs as foundational tools for health. As we progressed in our respective professional fields—Medicine, Chiropractic, and Acupuncture—that initial curiosity evolved into a clinical interest. We believe in an "ecology of health" where natural, holistic interventions serve as a vital first line of defense or a supportive adjunct to standard care.

How did you each find the Center for Herbal Studies and decide to enroll?

We were seeking a program that didn't just teach "folklore," but offered a rigorous, clinically relevant education that could stand up to the demands of our professional practices. We discovered the Center for Herbal Studies and were immediately drawn to David’s deep expertise and his ability to synthesize traditional wisdom with modern application. It became clear that this was the right environment to formalize our knowledge and ensure we were providing the highest standard of herbal guidance to our patients.

How do each of you use the training you received there in your work?

We integrate herbal medicine into our lives and practices daily. Personally, it is our go-to for family wellness. Professionally, it allows us to offer more nuanced, gentle, and supportive options for our patients. At our respective clinics, we use herbal protocols to provide vital immune support and restorative care as well as addressing inflammation and recovery from the inside out.

The training gave us the confidence to guide our patients through more natural, less invasive paths on their health journeys.

Favorite H&A products and why?

Our collective favorites are the Arnica Oil and Compound Arnica Oil. In a practice that focuses heavily on physical medicine and rehabilitation, we find these to be incredibly effective tools. They provide a simple, elegant, and potent solution for muscle soreness, joint stiffness, and acute pain, allowing our patients to recover more comfortably and stay active.
