Our tea has broad appeal. In a recent survey:

On a scale of 1-10, with 10 indicating excellent, 84% of the respondents rated the tea 8 or higher. And 97% rated it 5 or higher.

77% would definitely buy it if available and an additional 19% might buy it.

We have received equally favorable responses from men and women—40% of the respondents were male and 60% were female.

Background – Supported by our Blueberry grower network, Rutgers University and NJ Farm Bureau, our Jersey Blued Iced Tea was introduced to the market through NJ farm stands and special programs at some of the local supermarkets. Extremely popular – see articles – the initial formulation done by the University contained HFCS as a sweetener. Our Rutgers University student interns and extension agents helped us at our local agricultural fairs—they conducted and tabulated detailed surveys about our product. Although the people loved the taste, the health conscious consumers wanted a different sweetener and many “sweetener sensitive” consumers (especially those with blood sugar issues) wanted an “unsweetened” option.

We went back to our design team and worked to change the sweetener to meet the needs of our health based clientele. After reviewing many options presented by our Rutgers researchers, we chose organic cane sugar – it complemented the pure taste of our blueberry tea product. And during that process we also developed our “juice only” unsweetened tea. And we changed the glassware to NJ sourced glass—making our product truly local.

We introduced our recently reformulated products to rave reviews at Expo East through our management group – Herbalist & Alchemist. Herbs for Health just informed us that our Iced Tea will be featured in their New Products section of the March-April 2005 issue.
