Information* |
An aggressive weed that has taken over much of the
southeastern United States. It is unfortunate that people are
unfamiliar with this plant’s many uses. Instead of cursing the
plant, we need to learn how to utilize this “gift” (frequently).
Kudzu is a demulcent, antispasmodic, cardiotonic and decongestant.
The root is used for torticollis, back spasms, angina pain, mild
congestive heart failure, for sinus congestion, irritable bowel
syndrome and diarrhea. The flowers are traditionally used for
alcohol poisoning (hangovers) and the root has shown some ability to
reduce alcohol cravings. |
